We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Dorothy Lenore Lipp Plumlee Rosser, who peacefully went to heaven on May 9, 2026 at the age of 94.
Dorothy was born on August 20, 1931, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Thomas Frederick and Nellie Davis Lipp.
Dorothy attended all grades in Bonners Ferry, and attended the University of Idaho. She was employed with JC Penney in BF and in Panama City, Florida. She married Donald Plumlee on August 22, 1951, and joined him at Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida. After Don's service, they returned to their hometown and purchased The Western Auto Store and managed it until retirement in the late 80's. Their family grew with Susan and Diane, and the adoption of Gary.
Dorothy spent many weekends at Lake Cocolalla, where countless family memories were made. She was active in several organizations, including the American Cancer Society, JayCEtts, Job’s Daughters, Past Associate Guardian of Bethel #17, Order of Eastern Star, the United Methodist Church, and PEO chapter in Bonners Ferry.
Dorothy married Daniel Rosser in 1997. They wintered in Mesa, AZ, and spent summers in Bellingham, WA and Bonners Ferry.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children Susan Johnson, Diane Flynn, Spokane, and Gary Plumlee (Shandell) Kennewick, WA, grandchildren Cory (Tawnya) Johnson, Jennifer (Ryan) Johnson, Sarah (Steven) Mason, Allison (Wayne) Blehm, Kathleen (Jacob) Aspenleiter, Jonathan (Kaylee) Williams, Ashley (Shaun) Price, Garrett Plumlee. Great grandchildren are Jayken Johnson, Asher Owens, Camden and Emersyn Blehm, Leo and Mila Aspenleiter, Weston, Eloise and Emmilia Williams, Charlie and Logan Price and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family thanks her Luther Park Family and Bonner General Hospice for their compassionate care.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Nell Lipp, sister Kay Bergmann, former husband Donald Plumlee, and husband Daniel Rosser.
Services will be Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:00 am at the United Methodist Church in Bonners Ferry, ID with lunch, followed by committal ceremony at Grandview Cemetery.
