Gregory Allen DeBoer

Gregory Allen DeBoer took his first breath on February 27, 1958 and his last breath on August 1, 2026, in Bonners Ferry Hospital. Gregg was born unto Judith and Douglas DeBoer. Gregg’s childhood years were spent in Bonners Ferry and Coeur d’Alene. His adult years were mainly spent in Bonners.

Gregg did a variety of jobs. Working in construction, mill work and the timber industry. Gregg was always known for having a very strong work ethic. He took a lot of pride in whatever task that was placed in front of him.

Gregg loved working outdoors. He had a great love for animals. He looked upon nature with eyes of one who sought out even the smallest of details. Gregg felt the greatest peace when he was surrounded by nature. He was kind and giving and was quick to offer a helping hand. Gregg had a very deep and abiding love for his family and friends. He was fiercely loyal to those he loved!

He is now free from the many battles that he faced and fought in this life. It is a comfort to his family to know that he is finally free of all pain. Gregg will be busy, keeping his promise, to be our guardian angel, watching over those he loves with an even greater intensity.

His family wishes to express their deep, heartfelt gratitude for the loving care offered by Gregg’s caregivers, Valerie, Lora and Patrick. And for Gregg’s best friend Bobby and several others, for their craftsmanship and for the many hours lovingly spent building Gregg’s coffin, aka: “his ride home.”

Gregg was proceeded in death by his Father, Douglas DeBoer of Naples. He is survived by his mother, Judith Ferguson, his brothers Robert and Duane DeBoer and his sister Leisa DeBoer. Along with many nieces and nephews and many extended family members, including Kelly. All of whom dearly love him.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be held later on in the day at the Forest Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene, where he will be laid to rest next to his father. A separate celebration of life will be held at a future date to be determined by his brother Duane.
