Donald (Donnie) Peter Dinning of Post Falls, Idaho was brought into the arms of the Lord, October 8th, 2026 at Kootenai Health, surrounded by SO many family and friends.
Donnie was born to Don and Mary Cay Dinning and was raised in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He grew up huntin’ and fishin’ in the mountains of North Idaho playing football, wrestling, and track at Bonners Ferry High School. At any time, you could find Donnie out with a friend on some great adventure or offering his help to anyone who needed a hand.
After high school Donnie attended NIC where he found the love of Cheer. It took him to many places, opened many doors, and eventually fostered the connection that would lead him to his beautiful wife, Angelyca in 2020.
Don fell in love with Angelyca and her three children, Marley, Jaxson, and Colt. Angelyca and the kids moved to Idaho and not long after they were married. For three years, Don and Angelyca lived a life building a business, chasing kids in sports, having all kinds of adventures, and navigating life together.
Don is survived by his wife, Angelyca Dinning, their three children, his parents, Don and Mary Cay Dinning, sisters, Abby Dinning, Hannah Chase, and Lacey Henslee (Luke), nephews Chad Maas, niece Lexie Maas, nephew Noah Chase and an abundance of family and friends that loved him deeply.
The words used frequently in the past few days to describe Don were kind, loving, compassionate, humble, caring, genuine, funny, loving and hardworking. In his last act of kindness, Don gave the gift of a second chance at life through organ donation. His love will live on in the many lives he touched, and maybe his trademark, “Howdy!” may cross the lips of a stranger that carries a piece of Donnie inside.
“Howdy” -Donnie
