Patricia Marie Teasley (Pat)

Passed peacefully to God, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Pat was born in Spokane, WA to James and Susan Teasley on August 25, 1947 and was the oldest of eight children. She grew up in Spokane, graduating from Mary Cliff High School, class of 1965.

Upon graduation, Pat entered the United States Military as Navy WAVES recruit and was stationed at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA. While training to be a dental technician, she met and married her first husband, Terry Reed, who was also serving in the Navy. They welcomed their first child Dennis, in 1967, second child Dale in 1969 and finally Jennifer in 1971.

Pat earned her living as a dental technician upon receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy after becoming pregnant with her first son, Dennis. She also worked as a professional seamstress but would go on to earn her nursing degree from The Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education and began a long career as a Registered Nurse. A natural born caregiver, Pat’s nursing career, including work as a certified nurse’s aide, spanned nearly 30 years.

As a younger woman, Pat was popular, outgoing, funny and easy to become friends with. As the matriarch of our family, those characteristics served well to maintain deep connections to extended family utilizing an old school address book, a rotary dial telephone and writing letters! She dearly loved her family and would give up her chair so you could sit, her food so you could eat and her last dollar if you needed it. Pat enjoyed camping and fishing, a contentious debate, mostly with her siblings, power thrift shopping and her favorite, gambling. And not just bingo and slot machines, she was known to take a chance on getting to the casino on $2 worth of gas to cash in her match play, spin a few and have another $2 worth of gas to get back home if she lost.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Teasley and Susan Birdstone, her brothers Roger Byron and Gordon Bruce (Butch) Teasley, son Dale DeMont Reed and nieces Jacqueline Suzanne Dean and Isabella Martinez. She is survived by her son Dennis Reed (Bree), daughter Jennifer Van Etteen (Jason), sisters Susan Bernice Teasley and Sunny Birdstone; and brothers Richard, Warren and Michael Teasley. Pat adored and spoiled her 12 grandkids: Kim, Michael, Ashley, Tristan, Brandon, Katalina, Arialana, Jasmine, Kennedy, Jonnae, Jayla, and Jemma:, and 10 great grand kids: Dakota, Ava, Mischa, Braxton, Bailey, Kashtyn, Teegan, Morgan, William and Weslee: and many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Patricia Marie Teasley’s life will be honored and celebrated with a Wake beginning at 5 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 and a Funeral at 11 am on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at the Boundary County Fairgrounds – Valley Events Center, 6467 Recreation Park Rd in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Patricia Marie Teasley, contributions can be sent to Auburn Crest Hospice located at 6541 Main St. Bonners Ferry, ID 83805.
