Senaida Acuna Profile Photo

Sadie Acuna was born on January 29, 1943 and went to sleep one final time, surrounded by those who loved her, on June 27, 2025 at her home for 18 wonderful years. Sadie was born in Cleveland, New Mexico, the second of six children born to Luis and Adela Fernandez. Her father moved the family to Barstow, California for work and they found a permanent home. Sadie attended school in Barstow and graduated high school in 1961 from Loma Linda Academy. After graduation she met and married a marine soldier and welcomed a baby girl, Victoria Rogers. Sadly, her marriage ended and she returned to Barstow. However, Sadie trusted in the Lord and he was preparing her for a new chapter, and in 1996 she was married to Sam Acuna and they spent the rest of her life together. They moved to Idaho in 2007 to be close to her daughter and grandson and enjoyed her time in Idaho until she passed.

Sadie was a devout person and loved and trusted God explicitly. She communed with her Heavenly Father while she was alone reading her Bible. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother spending as much time as possible with her family. When Sam retired, they enjoyed traveling together whether that was pulling the trailer or going on an ocean cruise. She truly loved her church family and was grateful for the prayers, well wishes, and support.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Sam, daughter, Victoria Rogers, step children, Linda and Brian Schazel and Carlos Acuna, grandson, Preston Johnson, and step granddaughter, Maya Schazel. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 4:00 pm at the Bonners Ferry Seventh-Day Adventist Church. There will be a reception to follow.
