Marjorie Lee Pinkerton, 84, passed away on May 14, 2019 at the Boundary County Community Hospital, peacefully with her family by her side. Marj was born on January 2, 1935 in Lamont, WA to Everett and Bernice Cook. The Cook family moved to Bonners Ferry, ID in 1951, where they purchased a farm in District 5. Marj graduated from Bonners Ferry High School. She attended the University of Idaho Moscow where she met the love of her life, Larry L Pinkerton who became her husband on June 19, 1955. Marj is survived by her three sons, Lester (Karen), LeAlan (Missy) and Lynn (Angel). She loved her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Cook, and her twin sisters, June Burnett and Judy Swing. Her husband, Larry and her brother, Dale Cook preceded her in death. Marj was most proud of her family. She had a passion for giving back to the community through her many volunteer endeavors, most recently with the Boundary County Museum and as treasurer for the local Bonners Ferry Lions Club. She was an active member of the Mountain Springs Church of Bonners Ferry. As the wife of an US Immigration Officer, she relocated to many cities in the USA and their territories, establishing lasting friendships wherever she settled. Marj and Larry returned to Bonners Ferry after Larry’s retirement. They lived at the original Cook Family home in District #5. In Marj’s memory, the family encourages everyone to share her stories and her love of community and family.
