Steve King Bender

Steven King Bender, 62, passed away peacefully at his home September 14th, 2009. Born April 7th, 1947 in Bonners Ferry, ID to Anita(King) and Paul Bender, Steve attended elementary school at Mt. Hall, and high school at Bonners Ferry High School, where he met and caught the attention of a fellow sophomore, Jeanine Hermann. Steve and Jeanine were married on February 4th, 1966. Steve worked for 33 years at the lumber mill in Bonners Ferry, beginning his employment with Pack River on the green chain, and finishing with Crown Pacific as the mill manager. Steve’s loves in life were simple; time spent with friends and family, time with his grandson, time on the river. Steve’s family, wife Jeanine, daughters Michelle and Stephanie (married to Patrick Bulger and Chip Brown, respectively), grandson Jackson Bulger, brothers Dennis and Pat, (married to Michiel and Nancy, respectively), mother in law Lorraine Hermann, sisters in law Susan and husband Arliss Blalack, sister in law Lori Pupo, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Steve was an active member in the Bonners Ferry Fire Department, holding the rank of Engineer. He was a truly beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. The family suggests that memorials be made to Bonners Ferry Smoke Eaters Family and friends are invited to sign Steve’s book at Arrangement are entrusted to the care of Bonners Ferry Funeral Home.
