Douglas Sherman White Died August 11, 2009 in Boundary Community Extended Care Facility. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Doug was born in Oronogo, Missouri December 10, 1931 to Edmond and Rachel (Edwards) White. Doug's Family moved to Boundary County in 1935, settling in the Moyie Springs Area. He went to Buckhorn School and graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1950.
He married Violet Deselms on October 16, 1950 in Moyie Springs, Idaho .. They had three children: Pamela Reoch(Douglas), Moyie Springs, Sandra Wilder(Richard),Bonners Ferry, and Loren (Doug) White, Moyie Springs. Doug & Violet were divorced in 1965.
He worked as carpenter until 1951 when he started working at the Moyie River Lumber Co., at Moyie Springs, Idaho where he retired, after 30 years, in 1981.
He married Colleen Crawford on March 18, 1967 in Sandpoint, Idaho. They were married for 33 years when she proceeded him in death in 2000.
Doug was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and going fishing with his long time friend, Ole Lethrud. He was a long time union member and member of the Eagles. He loved going to Saters Auction rarely missing a week in years. He spent hours building up an extensive collection of model railroads. He enjoyed working with wood; building his home and furnishings. He loved yard and garden work, Christmas Lights and talking with his neighbors. Anyone who went past his house will remember his multitude of whirligigs and lawn ornaments.
He is proceeded in death by his Wife Colleen White, Father Ed White, Mother Rachel Hughes, Step Father Lloyd Hughes, Sister Fern Carmack.
He is survived by Brother Hobert White, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sister Maxine Kucera(Leonard), Moyie Springs, Daughters Pam Reoch and Sandy White, Son Doug White, Step Daughter Nancy Rosco(Vern),Step Son Rick Crawford. Grandchildren Barbara Hittle(Spencer),Tanya Morgan(Matt), Jeff Wilder, Denny Cushman, Aaron Wilder, Russel, Lynn, Gail, Gary & Tom Rosco. Numerous Great & Great-Great Grandchildren, Nephews and Nieces.
